Joining Hands

Joining Hands - Diane with neighbor Jose and Ali
Diane with neighbor Jose and Ali

We have learned the joining hands and working with the Mapuche doing projects together not only increases their trust but helps us learn the valuable practices and ways of the land that they hold so dear. We don’t want to change what they do only improve so that they are being more effective. At the same time this opportunity opens the way for us to help them in other ways in their quest to survive. As we work side by side we find out what their problems are and how we can be of help to them.

We have started several workshops in areas that they have asked for assistance: Such as earthworm farming, organic farming, bee keeping, herbal remedies, computer knowledge, health and nutrition. We also teach English to those who are interested.
